The Great British Baking Show announces its Series 13 premiere date, and it’s coming soon!
Fans of The Great British Baking Show don’t have long to wait for a new season. A new teaser shared by UK’s Channel 4 announced that The Great British Baking Show‘s return is around the corner. A 10-second clip posted to Twitter showed a distant view of the infamous tent as the show’s recognizable music played. The clip then transitioned to show a blue and white gingham cloth with words that read “Coming Soon.”
The official premiere announcement came Wednesday morning.
Known as The Great British Bake Off in the UK, the show will air on that country’s Channel 4 starting on September 13. It is rumored that The Great British Baking Show will make its return to American television via Netflix. Similarly to last season, episodes will air in the United States four days after they premiere in the UK.
According to Mirror, The Great British Baking Show has returned to its original filming format after making drastic changes in 2020 to accommodate pandemic protocols. Cast and crew were housed at Down Hall Hotel in Essex where they quarantined together.
This season, the hotel’s “98 rooms and 110 acres of parkland are available for bookings all summer, suggesting the show has moved on,” the media outlet reports.
“We won’t be filming in a bubble this year, but protocols will be in place to keep everyone safe,” a show spokeswoman confirmed.
“All the team, particularly Prue [Leith], found it really tough not being able to go home each week. They are delighted that this year it will go back to the way it was, when they filmed at weekends and could leave during the week.”
No major cast changes have been announced for the return of The Great British Baking Show. Viewers will see Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith back as judges, and Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas will resume their hosting duties.
If fan reaction to the new season’s teaser is any indication, Series 13 may be one of the most successful yet.
